Special Training Day: Doan and Zendo Etiquette

Santa Barbara Hospice (our usual location)

We're pleased to announce a special training session on zendo roles and etiquette, perfect for both newcomers and regular practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of Zen forms and service participation.

What to expect:

  • Doan role training led by Bob Nyosui Sedivy

  • Zendo etiquette instruction by Jo Ei and Kenkō

  • Learn about proper forms for entering the zendo, bowing, kinhin (walking meditation), and more

  • Hands-on practice with service instruments and roles

  • An opportunity to ask questions about our liturgical practices

This training offers a wonderful opportunity to become more comfortable and engaged with the ceremonial aspects of our practice. No prior experience necessary - all levels welcome!

No RSVP required, just join us at our usual time and location.

For questions, please contact Michael Daly, who will be serving as Temple Manager for this special event.
